GASNEFTCO supports the values of health, safety and the environment, with the aim of protecting the health and safety of employees, contractors, customers and the community at large and protecting and contributing positively to the environment. GASNEFTCO realizes the importance of adherence to health, safety and environmental standards, and recognizes that this is critical to its success. Hence, best practices are adopted and implemented at office and project sites, and are reflected in day-today planning, operations and non-routine activities. GASNEFTCO believes that HSE is a shared responsibility across GASNEFTCO and its project teams, particularly line managers and supervisors.

GASNEFTCO shall ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory and other requirements at all times. Additionally, GASNEFTCO will communicate all HSE critical issues to interested parties.

GASNEFTCO’s management shall demonstrate its commitment and the fulfilment of obligations and responsibilities through the implementation of an effective Health, Safety and Environmental Management System (HSEMS).

To comply with this policy, GASNEFTCO and its project teams shall:

• Set HSE standards that comply with all relevant regulatory requirements.
• Set annual HSE objectives, and conduct reviews at planned intervals to monitor progress and achievements.
• Develop and implement systems and procedures to reduce HSE risks, promote the identification and prevention of potential environmental aspects and hazards, and provide for systematic audits of work practices at regular intervals.
• Improve HSE performance through regular performance measurement.
• Progressively reduce the environmental and health impacts of its operations by reducing emissions, effluents/ discharges and waste, and promote the prevention of pollution, the optimal use of natural resources and energy, and waste avoidance.
• Review and improve or modify work practices in a manner to reduce all HSE risks to an acceptable level.
• Take adequate steps to protect customers, employees, contractors, visitors, equipment and facilities, from health, safety and environmental hazards.
• Inform and encourage employees to act responsibly and to protect themselves and others from injury, occupational Illness and environmental damage that could arise during the discharge of their duties and responsibilities.
• Ensure that all employees receive adequate and suitable training so as to achieve the highest standards of HSE performance.
• Ensure that where contractors are employed, their commitment to, and compliance with HSE standards are equal to those of GASNEFTCO.

GASNEFTCO shall review policies, objectives and the HSEMS at regular intervals for continued suitability and relevance. Wherever and whenever required, amendments shall be made and communicated, and their effective implementation will be ensured.
